The Sunnyside Academy is an early childhood education center committed to providing children with a safe, nurturing, and intentional place to learn and grow.
We believe quality childcare should be more than an available seat. Families should have the opportunity to choose a program where they feel confident their child will be cared for, supported, challenged, and prepared for what comes next.
WHY SUNNYSIDE
Quality childcare remains incredibly scarce in our community, leaving many families to make childcare decisions based primarily on where a space becomes available.
The Sunnyside Academy opened its doors in June 2021 with a commitment to help change that. Our goal is not simply to create more childcare spaces. We want to create high quality early learning environments that give families meaningful choices and provide children with strong foundations for future success.
As Sunnyside continues to grow, we remain committed to improving our programs, investing in our educators, and increasing access to quality early childhood education in our community.

We want children to leave Sunnyside confident, independent, curious, and prepared for their next stage of learning.
Our programs intentionally support social emotional development, communication, independence, early academics, problem solving, and school readiness while recognizing that children develop and learn at different rates.
Our vision is to build a program so strong that when our children enter elementary school, their teachers are excited to have them in their classrooms.

That is the standard we are continually working toward.
HOW WE SUPPORT THAT VISION
Our classrooms combine purposeful play with developmentally appropriate curriculum and meaningful learning experiences. Children are given opportunities to explore, build independence, develop relationships, practice new skills, and learn through experiences appropriate for their individual stage of development.
We also believe strong early childhood programs require supported educators. We invest in ongoing training, curriculum resources, professional development, and opportunities for our educators to continue their education and grow within the early childhood profession.
CACFP Program
CACFP Program
As of May 1, 2022 The Sunnyside Academy participates in the NM CACFP program. Upon enrollment to our center each family will be required to fill out the necessary documents to determine eligibility into the program. This form resembles the Free/Reduced Lunch form that is filled out for school age children.
Each family will need to have one on file each year regardless of eligibility as a requirement of the program.
