NOW ENROLLING FOR 2026–2027 NEW MEXICO PREK
The Sunnyside Academy is now accepting applications for our 2026–2027 New Mexico PreK program.
Our tuition-free NM PreK program serves eligible 3- and 4-year-old children and provides a full-day early learning experience focused on independence, social emotional development, early academics, communication, and school readiness.
Because children are eligible to begin NM PreK at age 3, students may participate in our program for up to two years before transitioning to kindergarten.
Enrollment is based on eligibility and classroom availability. We also maintain an ongoing waitlist throughout the school year as spaces may become available due to enrollment changes.

The need for quality childcare in our community continues to exceed the spaces available. Since opening in 2021, The Sunnyside Academy has remained committed to increasing access while continuing to strengthen the quality of the programs we provide.
As we grow, we continue to invest in our educators, curriculum, classroom environments, and early learning programs while working toward opportunities to serve more children and families in the future.
We also welcome conversations with individuals, businesses, organizations, foundations, and community partners interested in helping expand access to quality early childhood education in our community.

THE SUNNYSIDE DAYCARE LLC ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE TO THE SUNNYSIDE ACADEMY

Effective January 1, 2025, The Sunnyside Daycare LLC began doing business as The Sunnyside Academy, reflecting the continued growth of our program and our commitment to providing intentional early childhood education.
The transition to The Sunnyside Academy included an increased focus on curriculum, educator development, early learning, and the long-term growth of our program while maintaining the nurturing care families had come to know.

The Sunnyside Daycare LLC Announces Name Change to The Sunnyside Academy, Launch of Full Curriculum, and Plans for Expansion with Local Partnerships
Carlsbad, NM – December 17, 2024 – The Sunnyside Daycare LLC, a trusted provider of early childhood education, is excited to announce that, effective January 1st, 2025, it will officially be doing business as The Sunnyside Academy. This name change reflects the organization’s growth and its mission to provide even greater educational opportunities for young children. Along with this rebranding, The Sunnyside Academy will launch a comprehensive, full curriculum designed to enhance early learning, while seeking local partnerships to fund future expansion.
“The new name, The Sunnyside Academy, reflects our evolution from daycare services to a full educational institution,” said Dallas Silva, Director of The Sunnyside Academy. “In addition to our new curriculum, we are actively pursuing partnerships with local companies to secure funding that will help us expand our services and continue to meet the needs of our growing community.”
The curriculum launch will focus on holistic child development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical—ensuring children are well-prepared for future educational success. The Sunnyside Academy’s future expansion plans, supported by local business partnerships, aim to improve facilities, enhance program offerings, and provide additional support to families in the area.
Beginning on January 1st, 2025, The Sunnyside Daycare LLC will officially operate under the new name The Sunnyside Academy, with no disruption to current services. Families can expect the same level of care, alongside these exciting new developments.
